The railway inspector is coming to the Island of Sodor. He will be giving a special prize to the smartest engine so all the engines want to look their best.

James Goes Too Far

It's winter on Sodor and James is less than impressed when all the other engines seem to have more important jobs than him.

Thomas Gets It Right

Thomas is transporting eggs and must go extra slowly. When most of the eggs are safely delivered, The Fat Controller declares Thomas a Really Useful engine!

Percy & the Magic Carpet

Percy is chosen to collect a roll of carpet. Salty suggests that the carpet might be "magic", and teaches Percy some magic words.

Thomas & the Circus

Thomas is excited to collect the circus from the docks. The other engines offer to help, but Thomas declines. When Thomas' traction rods break, the circus becomes stranded.

Percy's Big Mistake

When Percy overhears The Fat Controller talking he can just make out the words 'Percy' and 'scrap'. Oh no! He's going to be scrapped!

Don't Tell Thomas

It's Christmas time and Thomas is working very hard. He can hear the other engines saying "Don't tell Thomas" which makes him sad.

Emily's New Route

The Fat Controller announces some new routes for the summer and sends Emily to Black Loch. Emily is unhappy but the dreaded route turns out to be very pretty indeed.

Chickens to School

Thomas has worked all night and is very tired but he still has to take chickens to the market, sheep to the farm, and children to school. Tired Thomas sets off.
